- 2006: During the case Hamdan v. Rumsfeld, the United States Supreme Court rules that U.S President George W. Bush’s plant to try detainees of Guantanamo Bay in military tribunals violates both U.S and international law.
- 2007: The Iphone is released by Apple Inc. on this day.
- 2012: Fast moving windstorms rumble through the eastern U.S and kills over 20 people and leaves millions more without power.
