Galicia Literature Day
Galician Literature Day is a public holiday that’s observed annually in Galicia, Spain on May 17th. This holiday not only celebrates Galician literature but also celebrates the language. This holiday was first observed by the Royal Galician Academy in 1963, and it’s been celebrated as a regional holiday ever since.

In the first year it was celebrated, this holiday was dedicated to Rosalie de Castro, and the year after that, it was dedicated to Alfonso Daniel Rodriguez Castelao.
