This is an observance week that’s been around for quite some time. It was first created by the Underfashion Club — a nonprofit organization that was created in 1958 and was originally known as the Corset and Brassiere Women’s Club.

In 1963, this organization changed its name to its current name, but its mission has always been the same: to educate people about the opportunities that exist in the intimate apparel industry. They created Intimate Apparel Market Week to spread the word about this holiday.
