National Croc Day

National Croc Day is a holiday that’s observed annually on the 23rd of June every year. This holiday is dedicated to the foam clogs that were unveiled in 2001 and have gone on to become a global shoe phenomenon. This is a day that shouldn’t be confused with World Crocodile Day, a holiday that’s observed on the 17th of June every year.

No, this is a day to wear your most colorful crocs, buy a new pair of brightly colored crocs, or to share your love of this shoe with friends and family members. And, of course, it’s a day to learn more about the history of crocs, some of which we’ll cover below.

The History Of National Croc Day

Lyndon Hanson and George Boedecker Jr. acquired the design of these foam clogs from Foam Creations Incorporated and they founded the company Crocs. Their shoe was originally developed as a boating shoe and the first model was unveiled at the Fort Lauderdale Boat Show in Florida in 2001. At that event, they sold over 200 pairs of the crocs that they produced. As of 2021, this company has since had a revenue of over $2.3 billion and counting.
