National Green Juice Day

Green juice is a beverage that people drink when they’re trying to have a healthier lifestyle. This beverage is made from the juices of green vegetables and may contain spinach, wheatgrass, celery, kale, or any other combination of green veggies. It’s usually a drink that people start drinking right after New Year’s, as part of their New Year resolution. So it shouldn’t be surprising that the holiday that encourages people to drink this health drink is celebrated on January 26th. A holiday that is commonly known as National Green Juice Day.

The History Of National Green Juice Day

National Green Juice Day started back in 2016 when Evolution Fresh, an organic beverage company, started this holiday to promote their line of drinks. It has since caught on all over the U.S and people from coast to coast are making their own green juices or buying one of the commercially available green juices such as Evolution Fresh’s Organic Green Devotion.

A Basic Green Juice Recipe

It can be hard to find a green juice recipe that is not only easy to make but tastes good as well, so we decided to experiment a little bit in our Holiday Calendar kitchen and see if we could come up with a recipe that met both criteria. After a little bit of research, and a lot of hard work, we’ve created a basic green juice recipe that we think everyone will be able to appreciate.

Ingredients:

  • Approximately 40-grams of fresh spinach.
  • One stalk of fresh celery (leaves and all).
  • Two Pears.
  • A 1-centimeter piece of ginger root
  • A quarter bulb of fennel
  • A squeeze of lemon

Directions:

  • Make sure to wash all ingredients and chop them into pieces.
  • Place the ingredients through your favorite juicer.
  • If the juicer isn’t equipped with a strainer, you might want to strain the juice for a better texture.
  • Enjoy it at your leisure or keep it sealed in a container for up to 48-hours.
  • For longer storage, freeze it. It will then last up to a week.
